J’aime l’architecture moderne et toute simple de cette maison de ville située à Landskrona en Suède, coincée entre des plus anciennes. L’idée était de projeter trois plaques minces dans le volume ouvert, qui divisent ainsi les différentes fonctions de la maison. I really like this modern and simple arcjitecture of this townhouse located in Landskrona, Sweden, wedged between the oldest. Three thin slabs are projected into the open volume, softly dividing its functions. L’esthétique japonaise me fascinera toujours, aujourd’hui je voudrais vous montrer quelques exemples du travail des architectes Kazuyo Sejima et Ryue Nishizawa. Quel est le point commun improbable entre un organisme à but non lucratif norvégien, la réhabilitation d’un immeuble à Bangkok, des étudiants en architecture norvégiens. La réponse est, The Old Market Library. TYIN Tegnestue est un organisme à but non lucratif dont le travail humanitaire se concentre sur l’architecture. TYIN est géré par cinq étudiants architectes de la NTNU et les projets sont financés par plus de 60 entreprises norvégiennes, ainsi que par des contributions privées.

Au cours de la dernière année TYIN a travaillé à la planification et à la construction de petits projets en Thaïlande, qui peuvent améliorer la vie des personnes dans des situations difficiles. Grâce à une vaste collaboration avec les habitants, et l’apprentissage mutuel, ils souhaitent que les projets peuvent avoir un impact au-delà de la structure physique. Ils ont restauré cet ancien marché pour en faire une maison communautaire et une bibliothèque avec des matériaux locaux et réutilisées. What is the common point between a non-profit Norwegian organization, a rehabilitation of a building in Bangkok, and architect students, the answer is, The Old Market Library. TYIN tegnestue is a non-profit organization working humanitarian through architecture. TYIN is run by five architect students from NTNU and the projects are financed by more than 60 Norwegian companies, as well as private contributions.

Through the course of the last year TYIN has worked with planning and constructing small scale projects in Thailand. They aim to build strategic projects that can improve the lives for people in difficult situations. Through extensive collaboration with locals, and mutual learning, they hope that their projects can have an impact beyond the physical structures. They restored the old market into a community house and a library with local  and reused materials. Estuaire 2009, Le paysage, l’art et le fleuve, propose un grand parcours artistique à Nantes, Saint-Nazaire et sur les 60 km de rives de la Loire qui les relient. “Estuaire » est une aventure artistique en 3 éditions, 2007, 2009 et 2011, qui se poursuivra ensuite sous d’autres formes.

Lors de chaque édition, des artistes, architectes, designers venus du monde entier créent des oeuvres éphémères visibles durant les trois mois de la manifestation en été, mais aussi des oeuvres pérennes qui doivent être définitivement ancrées sur le territoire pour qu’à terme chacune des communes riveraines en possède une. Les oeuvres sont réalisées in situ et entretiennent un rapport singulier avec leur environnement. Chaque installation, fascinante en soi, nous fait aussi découvrir un paysage et des perspectives exceptionnels. Jusqu’au 16 août 2009. Toute la programmation par ICI.

Estuaire 2009 is a second part of Estuaire a brand new concept, an artistic adventure divided in three parts, with its epilogue scheduled for 2011. The project will then carry on in various other forms. Each of Estuaire’s editions gives worldwide artists, architects, designers the opportunity to create perennial artworks and installations exhibited during the three months of the event. One of Estuaire’s goals is also for every riverside town to own, in time, a permanent piece, if not three for Nantes and Saint-Nazaire, and to engage the local population in participating actively to the creation of these art installations. Estuaire is also a political and tourist project, aimed specifically at accompanying and spurring the foundation of the Nantes – Saint-Nazaire metropolis, and using the physical linedrawn by the Loire river as the basis of a tour full of secrets. L’architecte « green » Mickey Muennig a construit sa maison il y a plus de 30 ans à Big Sur, en Californie. Cet éco-bâtiment construit dans le paysage aux murs de béton et de verre a un toit d’herbes sauvages. Parfaitement isolée, elle fonctionne grâce à des panneaux solaires. Dans l’intérieur de la maison, des poutres de sapin de Douglas soutiennent la maison avec un grand puits de lumière pour laisser passer la lumière naturelle. « Green » architect Mickey Muennig has built his house since more than 30 years in Big Sur, California. This eco-building is built into the landscape with concrete and glass walls, the roof is covered of wild grasses. Perfectly insulated, the house works thanks to solar panels. Non, non ne partez pas, vous allez voir, elle va être transformée!!

Souvent en nous promenant dans la campagne, nous tombons sur des maisons abandonnées que nous rêvons d’acheter et de restaurer non?  Mais ce n’est pas vraiment ce que j’aurai souhaité en croisant cet ancien relais de chasse en Normandie et pourtant… Franklin Azzi Architecture a réussi à redonner vie à cette maison avec pleins de bonnes idées, jugez plutôt ses explications…

La maison peut être entourée de deux extensions en toile qui seront des chambres ou des salons d’été. La structure des extensions est constituée de bois, la toile reprend un camouflage de l’armée cubaine. Au dessus, se trouve des terrasses en bois qui surplombent la vallée. La dalle de la maison s’étend sur les extensions à gauche et à droite et comprend un chauffage par le sol, ainsi que des prises d’extérieures industrielles. Cette dalle intelligente qui comprend la plupart des réseaux électriques et fluides, viendra articuler la maison. Devant celle-ci, se trouve en contrebas un blockhaus en béton pour un bureau/chambre isolé.

A la demande du maître d’ouvrage ce lieu de villégiature ne sera pas raccordé aux réseaux d’eau et EDF. Le projet répond donc aux exigences de Haute Qualité Environnementale les plus contraignantes notamment en ce qui concerne la récupération des eaux de pluie, l’utilisation de l’énergie solaire (système hybride) et géothermique, la réduction de la matière première par une optimisation des efforts de structure. L’ensemble des éléments de cette structure, de la charpente et des percements sont en bois et ne nécessitent aucun empiècement métallique. Chantier sec dont le seul l’assemblage est réalisé sur le site et dont l’ensemble des matériaux recyclables proviennent d’un rayon de moins de 100km. No, no don’t go away, you’ll see, it will be renovated! 

Sometimes when we walk in the countryside, we fall on abandoned houses that we dream to buy and restore right? But this is not really what I wish with this former hunting in Normandy and nervertheless… Franklin Azzi Architecture has succeeded in breathing new life into this house with a lot of good ideas, these are his explanations…

The extension consists of wood, canvas covers a camouflage of the cuban army. Above is a wooden terrace overlooking the valley. Slabs of the house to the left and right include a heated floor and external industrial
sockets. In front of the house is a bunker made from concrete for an office.

The project meets the requirements of high environmental quality as it includes rainwater collection,  the use of solar energy (hybrid) and geothermal energy, and reduction of raw material by optimizing the efforts to structure. The assembly of the structure was done on site with all recyclable materials from a distance of 100km.  Wood and vegetable fibers are used for the walls providing insulation and  windows provide natural ventilation, etc.  Via

Comme le dit lui-même l’architecte Louis Paillard, il est fou et tenace d’avoir réalisé sa « grange urbaine » avec 9m de hauteur libre pour la pratique du trapèze et 3 niveaux d’habitation… moi, je lui dit bravo.

As the architect Louis Paillard says it about himself, he is crazy and stubborn to have realized his « urban barn » with 9m height for the practice of the trapeze and 3 levels of living … I told him bravo.

Au cours d’une carrière, en grande partie passé à Los Angeles, John Lautner a saisi l’essence du sud de la Californie dans plus de 150 constructions distinctes. Formé par Frank Lloyd Wright, Lautner est surtout connu pour ses commandes privées, telles que la Résidence Elrod à Palm Springs, utilisée dans le film de James Bond Les Diamants sont éternels, ou la célèbre Chemosphere à Los Angeles où, entre autres, Body Double et une scène de Charlie’s Angels ont été tourné.

Le centre Lighthouse sera le seul en Europe à montrer cette grande rétrospective qui comprendra plus de 70 dessins originaux et modèles, couvrant une période de 50 ans, ainsi que le documentaire primé de Murray Grigor, Infinite Space.

Over the course of a career spent largely in Los Angeles, John Lautner captured the essence of southern California in more than 150 distinctive structures. Trained by Frank Lloyd Wright, Lautner is best known for his private commissions such as the Elrod Residence in Palm Springs, featured in the James Bond movie Diamonds are Forever, or Los Angeles’s iconic Chemosphere used, among other, in the film Body Double and for a scene in Charlie’s Angels.

The only European showing of this large scale retrospective will feature over 70 original drawings and models, spanning a 50-year period, as well as Infinite Space short films by award-winning documentary maker, Murray Grigor.

Taschen publie ce mois–ci un livre d’architecture sur quelques-unes des maisons les plus remarquables, construites au cours des cinq dernières années dans le monde. Parmi elles, Yakisugi House de l’architecte Japonais Terunobu Fujimori construite en 2007 à Nagano Japon. Cet historien de l’architecture moderne Japonaise continue à surprendre en insufflant dans l’architecture « green » les traditions rurales avec notamment cette technique de bois brûlé (shou-sugi-ban) utilisée depuis des siècles au Japon (comme en France) pour rendre le bois plus résistant à l’eau, à la moisissure et au feu.  Photos archiweb.

L’espace Jacqmotte est une ancienne brûlerie de café, située dans les Marolles à Bruxelles, qui a fait l’objet d’une rénovation complète. Elle cède la place aujourd’hui à des bureaux, un restaurant, des galeries et aux plus beaux lofts de Bruxelles. Cette rénovation est un brillant exemple de l’architecture d’intégration.

La réalisation du projet a été confié à Michel Jaspers de Jaspers-Eyers un des plus grands architectes de Belgique. Un livre retrace l’histoire des Marolles et la rénovation du site Jacqmotte. 

L’espace Jacqmotte is located in the heart of Brussels, Marolles district, the renovation of the former Jacqmotte site offers now a harmonious integration of office space, restaurant, shops, galleries and the most beautiful lofts in Brussels. This renovation illustrates a wonderfull example of integrated architecture.

Michel Jaspers from Jaspers-Eyers one of the greatest architect in Belgium, was in charge of the project. A book traces the history of Marolles and the Jacqmotte’s renovation.
